Work life balance is very easy to come by when your headquarters is on Austin’s famous 6th Street.
As the 2014 Austin City Limits music festival begins to warm up, we reflect on a few of our own experiences in the self-proclaimed Live Music Capital of the world.
Natalie Townsend is our Director of Sales. She is a driven professional, wife and mother. The youngest love of her life is a 2 year old boy named Jack. His big blue eyes could inspire any musician. Natalie has an interesting fact about her past. Before her career in professional services and finance, she owned her own company and managed bands.
Natalie spoke with Dai Truong who works at Austin Ventures and also offices on 6th Street. Dai focuses on early-stage and expansion-stage investing. He told her that they will be hosting a stage at ACL again this year. You can check out Robert Ellis, J. Roddy Walston & the Business, Blackberry Smoke and more at the Austin Ventures stage.
Dai tells Natalie that he enjoys ACL because, “I get a chance to discover new artists, see favorites and experience a variety of different music while enjoying an awesome view of Austin’s downtown skyline. A weekend in Austin during ACL guarantees you’re going to have fun regardless of planning, so no need to spend time solving the impossible lineup puzzle”.
Natalie admits working on 6th street is unique. Walking from her car to the office offers a variety of entertainment in itself. She sees everything from bands loading their gear into dark bars that have just opened their doors to the first light of day. Newly landed tourists can be seen taking #selfies outside of the infamous Maggie Mae’s. When the aroma of beer and Ropollo’s Pizza fills the air and the Austin Duck Adventure bus starts its engine – she knows she has arrived at Consero’s office at 106 E 6th Street.
The ACL Music Festival lineup is amazing this year and we can already hear the buzz. There is a lot to choose from: Beck, Pearl Jam, Foster the People, Spoon and more. Our office on 6thstreet comes to life – especially during music festivals. There will be plenty of parties, networking opportunities and talent coming through this year.
